About Living Faith
Living Faith Fellowship began in 1971 as a Bible study in the home of Dave and Marian Nordquist on College Hill. It later moved to WSU’s Koinonia House, and eventually to the home of Pastors Karl and Sherri Barden who were ordained into the ministry in 1975. Living Faith Fellowship has since built two facilities in the Sunnyside Hill neighborhood of Pullman, housing Pullman Christian School, Pullman Christian Childcare Center, the College of Ministry Training (CMT), and many other ministries for our communities and the world.
Today, Living Faith Fellowship is an alive and growing congregation with people from all walks of life and from all over the world. The church is active in local missions, involved in the community and giving back to the people in our area. Living Faith is active regionally, contributing to The Full Gospel Fellowship, American Association of Christian Schools (AACS), and many other ministry and education networks. Living Faith Fellowship is also a strong supporter of international missions, having planted churches around the world and continually supporting missionaries in the field.
Living Faith Fellowship is known for its strong sense of community, a passion for the Presence of God, and a hunger for the deeper things of God and His Word.

Mission and Beliefs
At Living Faith Fellowship, our purpose is to live the Word of God and proclaim it by:
- Exalting the Lord Jesus Christ in worship.
- Evangelizing the unsaved.
- Establishing Christians in intimacy with Jesus, in His Lordship, and in personal holiness.
- Equipping the saints for effective ministry.
- Extending God’s love and care to our community.
We believe…
- …that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
- …in one God, expressed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- …in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- …that everyone is separated from God at birth because of sin, and that only Jesus can save us.
- …that faith in Jesus, repentance and turning away from our sins is what makes us Christians, and that Christ’s blood is the ONLY thing that saves us.
- …that all believers are commanded by God to be water baptized.
- …in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and that the Holy Spirit gives us gifts to live the victorious Christian life.
- …that the power of God includes the power to heal, and that power is available to us because of Jesus.
- …that being a Christian means living a life that is different from the rest of the world, devoted to the things of God.
- …that Jesus Christ is the head of the church.
Our History
Living Faith Fellowship began in the early 1970s as a group of college students and community members began meeting for regular Bible study and teaching. The church originally met on campus at WSU’s Koinonia House, and then later began meeting on Sunnyside Hill at the home of Pastors Karl & Sherri Barden.
The church grew through the 1980s and ’90s, building several ministry facilities at its current location in the center of Pullman, WA. Various community and outreach ministries were founded, including Pullman Christian School (1975), Campus Christian Fellowship (1987), the College of Ministry Training (1991), and Pullman Christian Childcare Center (2003).
Founding Pastors Karl & Sherri Barden served Living Faith from 1971 until their retirement in 2001. Pastors Phil & Kari Vance transitioned into the senior pastor role after serving as college pastors for 18 years.
