Ecuador

Our  mission in Ecuador began in 2003, when a mom and her daughter traveled to Quito, Ecuador to work with local missionaries. That trip began something that is still changing lives.

Ecuador Mission

Nancy Gregory, ARNP, has been coordinating medical mission teams to remote villages in Ecuador since 2003. These teams provide basic medical care and health education.  Nancy has facilitated an incredible partnership with One Heart Global Ministries led by Katty Agguire in order to provide medication, dental care, eye glasses, and new shoes and socks through mobile clinics. Over the years, doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacy students, lab technicians, dentists, and community members have joined together to serve the people of Ecuador.

Each person coming through the mobile medical clinic is also given the opportunity to talk to a local pastor and spiritual team for encouragement and prayer. Our desire is to link them with someone locally that can help them long term with their walk with Jesus.

Ecuador, like many countries, has many needs. To attend school each child must have a uniform  and purchase their own school supplies.  Socks and shoes are an important component that we sometimes provide. Through the years, Payless Shoes has graciously helped us by providing shoes at special pricing so that we have been able to take in thousands of pairs. Each child receiving shoes has had their feet washed and  been fitted with new socks and shoes. Sometimes we have been able to also share with the elderly.

More information about these annual trips:

  • typically costs $2500.00 per person (not includin personal spending money)
  • each person is asked to raise extra funds to offset the cost of supplies. (approximately $500 per person)

Katty Agguire –
One Heart Global Ministries

photo-kattyKatty is the founder and director of One Heart Global Ministries, an organization birthed out of a deep desire to see her people know the love of Jesus and to feel His presence in their lives. She has committed her life to serving Jesus and her people by teaching and training them in the Word of God and bringing in focused teams from the United States.  These teams are showing the love of Jesus by providing natural and spiritual support to needy people. The Ecuadorean military often works with the teams allowing them access into areas not usually available to teams.

Katty Aguirre is a native Ecuadorean who grew up on the the border of Columbia and Ecuador.  She was exposed to danger and violence every day. Katty grew up feeling rejected and struggling to survive and meet the most basic of natural needs. After many long and difficult years living in these circumstances, she was introduced to the message of the Gospel.   read more…

Amy Carlson – Scripture Union Ecuador

amy-carlsonAmy Carlson, a Pullman native, long-standing member of Living Faith, and a Pullman Christian School graduate, has been serving in Quito, Ecuador since 2009. She has been serving as a missionary in a teaching capacity. In 2013, she began as Coordinator for Scripture Union Ecuador, based out of England, an organization with whom she has worked as a volunteer since 2011. Primarily using their Scripture-based curriculum, the volunteers (Amy & the ones she oversees throughout Ecuador, both foreign & native) teach Values & Ethics Classes to primary & secondary students ranging from 8-30 years of age. Through this weekly interaction they are able to invite students to monthly events held in local parks or public areas where they host a program with a very specific evangelistic theme. During these events, local pastors and church members are invited and encouraged to participate, giving them opportunity to reach out to the children and families in their communities.

Prayer Requests:

Please pray for their ministry as they touch the lives of hundreds of children with the Truth found in God’s Word, teaching them how to apply it to their lives and  showing the way to salvation through Jesus Christ.

Pray for the willing participation of local churches – that they would be able to work together to help the families understand the realities of a vital relationship with their Savior.
